Heres my 7 year old paint/pinto getta lotta cash (emmie) We do Hunteseat and westen showmanship, halter, color overo, hunseat pleasure and eq. ideal pinto, disiplined rail, and competative trail. i have had her since she was 4.. almost 5. We had a SUPER rocky start. she was abused when she was a baby, and so she was SUPER head shy. if u had anything in you hand and touch her face she would flip out. To this day I cant clip her yet with clippers, which is a MAJOR pain in my asss, I have to use a razor and scissors. She was super green, and I kind of was too. Our first few shows were dissasters. If there was an open gate she would run out of it. I got super scared of her, she would trow me off all the time, and i didnt want her anymore, i didnt have the strenth to controll her and was goign to sell her. Then I leased a horse molly and we jumped and WON all the time, i got muscles, and decided to work with emmie agian, after a year off, she got better and better. Now I ride in an arena with no fence at all, adn shes great. We are still working with her, and Im trying REALLY hard. We have come SO far in the past two years and Im very proud of both of us. We now do pinto shows and I love it.. its very very very hard and competative, all the horses are drop dead broke slow horses, with their nose dragging on the ground, and are all pintos and paint, so they are all alike so i have to try extra hard just to fit in. Emmie no longer trows me off, or runs off with me. Last year we got our ROM in showmanship, and I pointed out of halter, and hunt seat eq novice, which i was VERY excited about. last year i was so happy how well we did, and I got grand champian everytime I went into the ring for shwmanship and halter classes, we are still working on riding, her head isnt low enough quite yet, and she is still a little fast on the canter, but we have come SOO far! Im taking her to a big time trainer next week were she will go through boot camp to get ready for this season. Next summer is my last show season with her, Im going off to college and im gunna sell her. Im very sad to see her go, but hopefully she will geta nice home!

thanks, yeah a lto of ppl dont know that.. but yeah, im selling her. I bought her for 5 grand.. which was a HUGE mistake, i wanted a paint so i could do pinto shows, and emmie was at my barn, so i rode her... once.. and didnt even canter her.. i dont knwo what i was thinking. so i bought her. If i was smart, i woudl have only bought her for 1000, she didnt know anything, and at the canter she would buck me off all the time, so it was a HUGE mistake on my part, i just bought the first pinto.. but im glad things turned out like they did. so im hoping to sell her for about 8,000 but ill see how good we do on cercuit this year... and next

So did you buy her for a project to sell after a couple of years? Or were you plan on keeping her?

well i was planning on keeping her for a long time, then after i bought her, and relized what a bitch she was, i didnt want her, but i loved her too much.. adn shes SUPER smart too, She knew i was weak, adn i would let her get away with stuff, thats why she was like how she was, I saw patential in her eyes, so i decieded to work with her for a year.. then sell her so i could get more money off of her...then she did so good at the shows i decided to keep her for good. then my mom told me that when I go off to college, they are moving, we are selling crystal, adn treasure just passed away, so my mom said she wants me to sell emmie, and shes just gunna board ruby somewhere... so i would like to keep her..but oh well i fell im not gunna have enough time, or money to keep her and I have worked so hard to get her to where she is, adn i dont want her just sitting in a pasture

Why don't you lease her out until your done college? I know that if I went through everything that you did with her and got through it I would never be able to sell my horse, I would be too atached.

I never knew she was super headshy, etc. She's very cute I'm sorry you have to sell her though. Even though you said you're not into horses as much anymore, I know you're gonna miss her.

yeah.. we are not sure why shes so head shy... we think she was beaten as a baby, but we're not sure. It took so long just to brush her face, and to this day she still doesnt like some stuff, liek the clippers, adn worming her sucks too, she sfine once you get the tube in her mouth, but to get it there its a fight soemtimes. but she has gotten A LOT better lately.. i just had to work with her a lot
