Rebecca sad in the "Bratty-Poo" thread that I don't talk about the horses I ride, because of my Brat obsession, so I thought I'd start a thread for 'em.
Name: Dustin ("The Graduate By Chance")
Breed: Tennessee walker
Age: 6
Color/markings: chestnut/stripe, 1 sock
When I first started riding at my barn, Dustin was a baby, so I've sort of watched him grow up. Awww. I think he was about 2 when I started riding there. And he was just adorable then as he is now, lol. I was there for a lot of firsts -- first time tacking up, first time riding, first time I rode him (well, obviously), etc.
I didn't get to ride him until June of last year. When we started training him, my trainer decided (and we all agreed) that it would be better if he only had one or two riders, so he'd receive consistant commands, etc. So for awhile (1-2 years...its too early to do the math) only my friend and my trainer rode him. Last summer Genius turned up lame one week, so my trainer let my friend (not the one who helped train him) and me ride him ;D Aah. It was great, lol. And now I've ridden him a lot, in the ring, pasture, and I got to show him in a class last fall (we got 2nd btw).
I could talk about his bad habits but i think I'll post pics instead, lol.
