My TB is six years and seems to be thinning out and growing taller, and more TB-like. And no, he's still being fed the same amount of food as when we first got him, so it isn't like he's on a diet. But my sis and i have noticed that he's no longer a chubby little tb. Do TBs mature like that, is this normal and crap?

well....i have a TB too and i noticed she gains weight in the winter (which is normal btw) and in the spring she looses alot cause she is running around and i ride her about 4 days a week in the spring/summer and in the winter i rode like 2/3 days a week. So i guess it depends...is he in the pasture? if he is....then hes out running and walking more, and if you ride him more thats another thing....but yeah, its pretty much normal for them to loose weight. just not a shitload of weight where they look like a rack of bones. A way to tell if he is over weight or not....feel his ribs. If you cant feel his ribs....he is fat and needs to loose weight. if you can feel his ribs without them showing too much he is fine. TB's are normally tall with a thin build to them...so its normal for a TB to be skinny. Even nikita looks thin but she needs to loose some weight cause i cant feel her ribs. she may look like she doesnt but she does.....so yeah, try feeling his ribs....it may come as a surprise he might need to loose weight too. its just the way TB's are built.
