Ok, I'm not really sure what I do lol. I ride walk/trot/canter, don't show, mostly flat work, and some ground poles. Anyone else ride pretty much just for fun? Also, any sitting trot tips would be nice :-). After four years, you would think I would have it down wouldn't you. Oh well. I love to canter too. Tucker also loves it (he used to be quite the show jumper) but since he has a bowed hind tendon, we are only doing flatwork but at the canter... lets just say you can never tire this guy out. But that's ok with me :-)

Keep your hips back, slow your horse down, relax, and focus on keeping your butt glued to the saddle.

for sitting trot, push all your weight into your heels, sit deep with your seat bones and keep your shoulders back.. Make sure the trot is slow and collected, it's MUCH easier to sit that way

a past trainer of mine told me to think of huladancing when your sitting at a trot. move your hips with the horse to help you sit. try and be one.
