Ive been riding for ages.. but ive only done a few really small shows. And as my friend sammy calls me im a showvirgin cause i dont know alot about showing. I have a question about sheets/blankets for showing... i know alot of people use a sheet to keep their horse clean for shows.. whats the best material out there?

just get a nylon sheet. Not a thick one. but thick enough so they wont get shit stains on them. Also sleezies are good too. It keeps them clean also, and then keeps the bands/braids nice too. Also they make body sleezies which are super nice. and then u put the sheet over it. Its nice for super messy horses.

okay.. but alot of sheets out there are wool.. wouldnt that be to warm though.. idk. i just want wats best for him cause he is my baby. But if you guys say nylon ill do nylon. Cause i used to have a cotton one but its got a big rip. But a friend uses wool and another friend uses nylon.. just debating with myself on whats best!

Nylon lasts longer, stays cleaner longer, and holds in heat AND keeps it out (basically maintains your horses temperature)
Wool is really heavy

I use nylon on Dylan, so obviously I like it. With a wool blanket your horse will just get ticked off b/c it's hot as hell underneath the dead sheep ontop of it

I have a dress sheet that is made out of wool so I would suggest wool or even fleece... a rain sheet is good to have too for shows just in case it rains and you have to stand in the rain for any amount of time... it will keep you and your horse warm and dry.

the wool or fleece can also double as a cooler so you wont have sweat marks or if you do the sweat will dry fast so you can brush the dry mark off... I do it all the time at home and at shows.

wool isn't good for the summer, it gets too hott. Nylon works best for a show sheet, or like a baker dress sheet (fleece))
