I agree! I wish my parents allowed me to jump, because I'd so try eventing. When I'm out of the house, though, I'm gonna learn to jump.

It took me forever tog et my parents to agree to it....ever since my accident i have to wear a body protector when im jumping so i have to wear my cross country vest for JUMPING! i hate it, but i know it will protect me. I dont have to wear it to shows though, maybe if you told them you would wear that it would help a little....i mean like nothing horrible would happen, i heard of people braking ribs and punctorting their organs with the broken rib....the vest protects your ribs...wear a helmet and start off little. try talkin to them...took me along time lol

They're even against me jumping crossrails. But I do anyway... even though they're only like 12 or 18 inches. I may try talking to them again about it -- I dont think they'll change their minds, but its worth a try!
Its just...yeah there are risks in jumping, but they dont understand that there are risks in every aspect of riding. A lady who was well-known in the TWH world (she owned some GORGEOUS horses) died a week or two ago from injuries from a trail ride. She was riding her friend's horse and it spooked. I didn't tell them that, but I have told them that riding on the flat CAN be as dangerous as jumping (not that it always WILL be, but yeah).
Its worth a shot though. Maybe they'd let me if, like you said, I wore a cross country vest

I've never done eventing before. I dont even know what it is lol! Well I kind of do. But Erin my dad is the same way....well sort of but he thinks that I shouldnt ride at all because its unsafe..... I'm like dude everything these days is unsafe! And yes I called my dad dude lol.
I jump though because my mom takes me riding and I just overall love jumping. But I've never evented before

Exactly. Hell, driving is more dangerous than horseback riding because there are a bunch of morons who dont care what they're doing.
I love watching cross country, but it rarely comes on tv here and I never get to go watch it (I dont know if there are any XC events around here either).

dude i got in a cool bitch fight at my boyfriends hockey game....okay so it went like this.
THese girls from this bigger city (Onalaska) dressed up to mock my boyfriends team (Shelby/Viroqua, its a combined team) anyway...they dressed up as hillbillys...I live in Shelby so im considerd a "hillbilly" to them...anyway, they walked by and im like: "Hey! we still on for cow tipping this weekend?" this one ugly chick was like...."yea! its a date....bitch" im like...."we hillbilly's dont use that language"....she gets all up in my face and like "You lucky i dont knock your teeth out like all your other hobo bitches" it was great and i had my boyfriends Home jersey on...cause all us girls wear their jerseys they arent using....anywho...shes like, "What, is number 22 your boyfriend or did you have to resort to asking your cousin cause no one else would let you?" i wa slike... "He is both, but im going to try to make it my goal this year to actually date someone OUTSIDE the family" she got soooooooooooo pissed.
Yea....HILLBILLY STYLE! lol
