Ive *seen* horses jumped as young as 3, but I wouldnt suggest it, Id say 4-5, or u could really mess up their legs... if you wanna start earlier, do one, and I mean ONE pole on the ground... and remember, quality over quantity...take it slow

yeah cause my boy is 3. id like to jump him when hes ready. But id rather be safe than sorry and ill wait a year or two or a few if it means keeping him safe.

yea... better be safe than sorry... ive seen too many that get the crap jumped out of them before theyre done growing, and their legs end up really really messed up and not straight, etc... and therefore pretty much useless after that, except to flat... and now im just blabbering on, so ill shut up

They're joints arent closed over yet at three- keep it to cavaletti and ground poles at the most. THeres so much more you can teach them at this age.

I'd start REALLY jumping at 4. Dylan started at 4, popping over little x's.

Okidokie, I agree with most people that the age of 4 is a good age to start jumping!

yup I agree with all of you! haha just wait and do single small cross-rails until your horse is 4 I would wait until he is like 5 or 6 to start much more than that
