hey there, my name is kate, im from upstate NY and i have some questions about barrel racing. but first off i'd like to know if theres anyone in my area (upstate NY) who does barrels? and also if they know how i can get started, i have 2 horses of my own and a few others that i ride for my barn manager. ive owned and worked with horses basicaly all my life. and i used to show when i was younger now i just go on trails but for years ive wanted to barrel race. i just have never known how to get started or anything like that,ive tried doing research but it just hasnt helped me. so if anyone has any info or if your in my area and could please help me out it would be GREATLY appreciated.

Hey! I don't really ride barrels, so I can't help you, but I wanted to welcome you to the board. Jessi is from NY but I don't think she does barrels. Gaby does barrels, but she's not from NY. lol.

Hey, I'm the gaby they talked about. There are tons of barrel races in upstate new york. If you go online and type in New York + Barrel Racing I'm sure you'll come up with lots of options. If you find a small, backyard show to barrel race at your first time that would be key. Theres actually another site, called Amateur Barrel Racer, that people could tell you much more. i live in PA, i go to many many shows in NY. theres a bunch of backyard shows too great for beginners.
haha i went to one last year didnt kno it was one, the arean was grassy with turkey tracks threwout it. craters around the barrels. i won every frickin class. wanna kno wat i got?
A HORSE COMB LMAO!!! lol yeah great isnt it?
